Biography
He is one of the first Hungarian artists, who applied the new, modern change in style in his works. He studied in Paris around 1910, from that time on he applied the style of the compositions with cubistic forms. Later, he combined the expressionistic energy and the clear forms of constructivism in his works. His works show landscapes and portraits too, his self-portraits show a deep self reflection, although combined with humour. Recurring motives on his landscape works are the streets, houses and churches of Kecskemét and Szentendre. In 1949 he was awarded the Kossuth-award, in 1981 a constant exhibition of his works were opened in Szentendre.
